Gedling Town were the biggest winners as they defeated Meir KA, 5-0, at the Riverside Ground. An Alan Jefferies brace had them two-up by the interval before further strikes from Ben Cobley, Nicky Kennerdale and Carl Westcarr completed the rout. They will now host Mickleover Sports in an all-NCEL tie after Sports were the winners of a seven-goal thriller at Long Eaton United. Tony Law opened the scoring for Mickleover on 11 minutes before Matt McCaul levelled matters for their Premier Division rivals. However, Law regained the advantage for his team before the break but Long Eaton fought back to equalise again through Mark Strzyzewski on 49 minutes. Law completed his hat-trick to make it 3-2 nine minutes later before United drew back level for the third time on the hour mark through Alex Steadman. But, it was Sports who would have the final say as they went ahead for the fourth time through Jamie Barrett and, this time, managed to maintain their lead for 4-3 victory.

In two other all-NCEL tussles, Rainworth Miners Welfare had Adam Lillie to thank after his brace saw them beat visitors Teversal 2-1, whilst Gavin Hunter's 60th-minute goal saw Hallam claim a victory by the same scoreline at AFC Emley. South Normanton Athletic, meanwhile, bowed out of the competition with a single-goal defeat at Bedworth United. Two matches were played in the First Round of the NCEL League Cup with one being one-sided and the other going down to the wire. Two goals from Gary Dickinson and one each for Matty McKay, Carl Snowden, Craig Burdick and Lee Everitt saw Barton Town Old Boys overwhelm visitors Rossington Main in a 6-1 victory. That means Barton have scored 22 goals in their last five matches and that's after they lost their season opener 4-0 at Hall Road Rangers.

Joining them in the next round of the League Cup are Pontefract Collieries who progressed after a penalty shoot-out at Scarborough Athletic. The hosts had gone ahead through Danny Exley on 34 minutes and looked to be going through before Ben Cadman equalised with just seconds to go. There was no further score in extra-time and Collieries held their nerve, winning the shoot-out 3-1. Penalties were also the order of the day for one of five Presidents Cup First Round ties.

Staveley Miners Welfare were 5-3 winners of a dramatic shoot-out at home to Lincoln Moorlands Railway following a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes. Ian Brown netted for the fifth game running for Glapwell as the Hall Corner side progressed with a single-goal victory over visitors Maltby Main. An Andy Hart penalty eleven minutes from time saw Selby Town dump Parkgate out of the competition at the Flaxley Road Ground. Steve Ward had put Parkgate ahead at the end of the first half before Adam Russell equalised on the hour mark and Hart's spot kick sent the Robins through.

Matthew Biddle's late strike means a Quarter-Final place for Liversedge after they won 3-2 at Tadcaster Albion. It had seemed that Sedge had blown their chance as they let a two-goal lead slip after a Damien Melvin brace had put them seemingly in control of the tie. Danny Gray and Guiseppe Downing brought the home side back on level terms before Sedge managed to grab the vital goal. Winterton Rangers are also in to last eight with a 3-1 victory at home to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic. Lee Mohammed, Steve Underwood and a Martin Scully own goal put them safely through before Craig Hitchen scored for Athletic in injury time.
