Micky Allsop returned to the starting line up partnered by Josh Watts and Matt Hallam started off up front with Alex Steadman. Long Eaton started the brighter of the two teams and the first chance of the game fell to Josh Watts on 5 mins but he didnt get any contact on the ball and it flew across Armthorpes box without anyone getting any contact on the ball.
Marc Strzyzewski well hit shot from a free kick was saved by the Armthopre keeper on 8 mins. Alex Steadman made a good chance for himself when a ball was played into the box and he swivelled and shot but again the keeper had it covered. On 13 mins Micky Allsop played a great ball into the channel for Steadman who should have done better with his effort on goal.
Armthorpes first goal attempt came on 15mins when their shot was blocked and from the rebound they hit the crossbar. Armthorpe were slowly working their way into the game bt it was Long Eaton who had the next chance on 32mins. Steadman again making a good run and turning inside brought a good save out of the keeper, the rebound fell to Matt Hallam who had to snap at the shot and again it was parried by their keeper.
Armthorpe broke the deadlock with the last kick of the half when their no.9 got to the by line and was allowed inside to easy, but hit a well struck shot which gave the home team a half time lead.

The hardworking Matt McCaul hit a shot on 48mins but it lacked power. Long Eatons best chance of the game came from a good cross from the right but Fowkes could not hit the target with the ball clearing the crossbar. On 71 mins Long Eaton gave away possession of the ball when attacking and and the Armthorpe full back made a cross field clearance which their no 9 did well to get on the end of. He ran at Watts and with a neat trick wrong footed him and thrashed a left footed shot into the top corner.
Long Eaton made 3 quick substitutions with David Wilkinson coming on for Graham Fowkes, Tom Widison coming on for Micky Allsop and Ian Buick coming on for Danny Beldham and went three up front for the last 20mins. Half chances fell to Matt Hallam and Matt McCaul but it was Armthorpe who took all 3 points.
