Jodie Hancock - Player of the Match 2 weeks Running
The Ladies were away this weekend to top of the League Nuneaton Borough Ladies. This was a game that did not see Long Eaton United play their best. With Player of the Match Jodie Hancock being given a hard time by the Nuneaton defence, Long Eaton made plenty of chances which should have saw them put the game away in the first half, but failed to get the ball on target. Long Eaton Managed to go ahead before half time when the ball was cleared by the Nuneaton defence which fell to Jodie Hancock who made a run with the ball, rounded the keeper and slotted the ball home.
In the second half it was no long before Nuneaton had equalised with a goal after 10 minutes, when the Long Eaton Keeper was lobbed to bring the score 1 - 1. It wasn't until 10 minutes from the end that the deadlock was broken when Chloe Madden managed to hit the back of the net to bring the score to 2 - 1 to Long Eaton. Making their debut for the ladies today was Jordan Flynn and Natalie Spibey, who come on in the second half of the game.
Manager Kevin Hancock said of today's game " We played a disjointed game today we created many chances but failed to finish on target, however we played top of the league and took 3 points away from Nuneaton and we still remain unbeaten. Our next game is at home this coming Sunday to Arnold Town a local derby for us so we will be going all out"
