Long Eaton United continued their impressive start to the season with a 6 nil win against local rivals Arnold Town.
Carly Hayes opened the scoring with a shot drilled in from the left of the box. Long Eaton played some good football, keeping possession resulting in a second goal with a left foot strike from Jodie Hancock. Long Eaton continued to pressure the Arnold defence and with some well worked moves, Laurie O'Shea finished well for the Long Eaton's 3rd goal.
After half time Long Eaton continued the pressure as Jodie Hancock charged down an attempted Arnold clearance and claimed her second of the game. With the Arnold players now tiring and Long Eaton becoming more dominating it was not long before Jodie Hancock got her hatrick with a superb strike from the edge of the box, leaving the Arnold keeper with little chance.
The Arnold defence continued to feel the pressure from the Long Eaton attackers and it was not long before Arnold gave away a penalty from a hand ball. Kirsty Gibons Stepped up to take and placed the ball calmly in the back of the Arnold net to get her first of the game.
Finale Score 6 - 0 to Long Eaton
Jodie Hancock was once again awarded Player of the Match from the opposition make this her third week of being award the honour.
Kev Hancock said after the match "we played some great football and killed the game off with goals in the first 20 minutes. This was a good all round team performance with every player playing the part. This now takes us in to second place in the league, 1 point behind Hinckley United, but with a game in hand"
