Long Eaton United Ladies v Leicester Ladies
Home this weekend to bottom of the table Leicester saw Long Eaton dominate the first half. Hitting the bar on no less than 6 accessions, but also placing 8 in the back of the Leicester net. Leicester managed to scrap one back just before the half time whistle. "They played football and did not give them a chance - Kev Hancock"
In The second half Leicester had stepped up their game but were no match for the strong Long Eaton side who scored a further 4 goals to take the final score to 12 – 1.
There was a string of goals scorers in the game with Jodie Hancock getting 4, Kirsty Gibbson 3, Emma Hawkins 2, Sarah Harrison, Hayley Armstrong both getting one each and Grace Whitaker scorering her first goal for Long Eaton United.

The unbeaten leaders of the Northern & Southern sections met for a place in the quarter finals of the cup. Long Eaton opened brightly and missed 2 opportunities to take the lead. The game played with Great Spirit and Long Eaton took the lead when Jodie Hancock won a 50/50 ball with Rolls keeper Alex Allen and slotted the ball home. “The game was a good advert for women’s football. We played well as a side and deserved the win"
The second half started with Rolls applying pressure but Long Eaton defence marshalled well by Chloe Madden and assisted by Aime Brammen held firm. Long Eaton went 2 – 0 up when Hancock rounded the keeper and scored. Long Eaton went 3 – 0 up when a clearance from the defence left Hancock and Allen in another 50/50 which Hancock won again and slid home. Long Eaton went 4 – 0 up when Hancock wove her way through the Rolls defence to cross in for Marie Walker to beat the keeper for Emma Hawkins to tap home.
