Manager: Leigh Booth - AKA Gaffa
Manager Leigh has been with the clubs youth set-up for many years and know the current set of lads inside out, so his appointment as reserve team manager was an obvious one. He has improved the reserves immensley playing attractive attacking football with a steely edge. As a shrewd tactition, full of passion and a fantastic team and man motivator Leigh will take the reserves in the right direction as long as he isn't serving another touchline ban! The Gaffa is responsible for the new infamous 'Booth Hairdryer' and 'Fridge Kung Fu'! |

Assistant Manager: Paul Kilbourne - AKA Killy
Asssistant manager Killy is a great character to have in the reserves set-up, with his no-nonsense; "There's nothing wrong with kicking someone!" attitude, his vast experiance and sound knowledge of the game along with the occasional substitute appearances followed by his now famous, "I am 45 you know!" quote makes his a great addition. As a fully qualified FA Referee and the 2007 Long Eaton Sunday League Referee of the year. Killy knows the laws inside out. |

Goalkeeper Danny Graves-aka Paulo
He wears bright yellow, burnt orange or electric pink {yes PINK} keeper’s jerseys. With his slender build and hair like Mika, some may think that there is a member of Scissor Sisters standing between the Long Eaton sticks. They could not be more wrong. Paulo is greatly underrated because of his size. He is athletic, he has a very safe pair of hands, his shot stopping is second to none and he has a flawless kicking technique. He is an exceptionally talented goalkeeper and a great personality. |

Defender Alex Hooley-Sat Nav
Alex is an athletic, tough combative player. Can play on the left or the right and although he is mainly used in a defensive role, he loves nothing more than getting forward and mixing it with the opposing defenders. With a well toned, muscular physique and curly dark hair, Alex is a favourite with the girls and some of the boys! |
Defender Callum Richards-aka Paxo
Cal is a versatile footballer who can play on either side of the pitch and will work tirelessly for the cause. Unfortunately Cal has been out with a serious injury for most of the season, which has been very disappointing for Cal and the team because prior to his injury he was in outstanding form. However, this has enabled Cal to indulge with his other favourite pastime, ornithology, which is picking up birds from exotic locations {Norfolk} off the internet. Cal’s last excursion to that area must have been a great success, because I heard him telling all the lads, that when he returned he had picked up thrush. He tells me that he is ready to fight for his place back in the team and all the players are looking forward to seeing him in action at the end of January when his latest conquest will be visiting. |

Defender James Hewson-aka Jim
Ex army man Jim is the team Captain and he is definitely the one person you would want in the trenches with you when the going gets tough. Missed the first few months of the season through injury and his return has bought leadership and stability to the squad He puts his body on the line week in week out for the cause. with his robust style, Bilko has little regard for his own well being or that of any opponent or coming to think of it, that of his own team-mates. Jim is has recently become a big fan of Face book and hopefully we will be able to contact him via that medium shortly. |
Defender Liam Howe-aka Rodders
Liam is a tall and quick centre-half. Good in the air and a thoughtful distributor of the ball from defensive positions. I am pleased that he has worked hard to improve the areas of his game which will enable him to play at a higher level and this has been recognised with a first team call up.. He is a dead ringer for Del Boy’s brother and the team are delight, if not surprised, that he and Cassandra are expecting their first little Trotter because we all thought that he was a Jaffa. |
Defender Mark Smith-aka Smiffy or Smudger
The wise old man of the team, Smiffy still retains loads of ability and enthusiasm. He is very versatile and is able to play in most positions on the pitch, although these days he operates in a mainly defensive role, there is still few finer sights in the game then seeing Smudger rampaging forward, causing chaos in the opposition box with his ginger chest wig peeping out of the top of his shirt. Alas he has to restrict that wonderful sight due to the ever present rigamortis setting in. |
Defender James Collins-aka Collins
Collins joined the reserves at the start of the season, but has missed the majority of it through injury. One of his strengths is his communication on the field of play. He is a thoughtful player who is comfortable on either side of the pitch and can do a good job in the centre of midfield if required. Hopefully now fit and after receiving a much needed hair cut, Collins will push hard to regain his place in the team and I am sure that we will see the best of him in the near future.. |

Midfielder Kimany Gregoire-aka K
New signing K has made an immediate impact in the team. He is a very powerfully built person who likes to get stuck in, but he also is an intelligent passer of the ball. I am sure that there is still a lot more that K can offer the team, although he is not fully match fit he has great presence on the pitch. If he can progress as we expect, then he may be one pushing for a first team place later this season or next season. |
Midfielder Jason Hallam-aka J
J is one of the most popular lads within the squad. J is a cultured footballer who is the consummate team player. He has lots of ability, he is strong, a good passer of the ball, works tirelessly for the cause, he chips in with crucial goals. He knows that the only thing he that holds him back is his conditioning, which I know he is working hard to rectify. J is very important member of the team and a greatly underrated player. |
Midfielder Ben Burton-aka Benny Boy
Silky smooth Ben is probably the most creative player in the squad. He is equally at home in the centre if midfield or on the left. He has a dream of a left foot and he has scored some fantastic goals this season. Ben has struggled with his fitness of late and he has filled in at left back, where we have seen a tough no nonsense aspect of his game which as come as a pleasant surprise. Ben is another one ,that when he is fully fit should be knocking on the door of the first team. |
Midfielder Dorian Jenas-aka D
This is D’s first season with us and he has made a real impact with his Viv Anderson style spider legs. He is a very gifted attacking left sided player, but he is not afraid of doing his defensive duties for the team. Dorian has had a few niggling injuries which has made the season a bit of a stop start one so far, but if he remains fit in the second part of the season, then he too should come into the first team reckoning if an opportunity arises. |

Midfielder Leon Jenas- aka Lee
Leon is a new recruit and is not quite fully match fit, so he has had limited starting opportunities. He is a good communicator, quick, powerfully built and a very hard working player. He can play out wide on the right or up front in attack and I know that he will be pushing for a regular starting place as soon as he can.. |
Striker Colin Dewhurst-aka Col
Colin has almost all the qualities a professional footballer requires. He has a perfect physique, he is a great athlete with speed to burn, and he has fantastic football skills. Where he frustrates everyone is he is a nice lad off the pitch and too nice on it. When the penny finally drops as to how good he could be, then he will turn into a real top player. |
Striker Courtney Bonnick-aka Courts
First season with us and Courtney has been a real find for the club. He is a very quick, strong and athletic attacking player. He has played out wide, in the centre of midfield and his best position up front terrorising the opposition defence with his pace and work rate. Courtney has already bagged one hatrick and he will get more goals. Watch out strikers in the first team. |
Striker Tom Widdowson-aka Widdo
Widdo is another first season player for us. Due to an early season suspension Tom missed his opportunity to crack the first team, but he has been real quality for the Resses. He has been playing as a target man and he really works unselfishly for the team. His overall performances should of lead to him scoring more goals, but because he works so hard he is not always in the positions which would give him more opportunities to score. He has also shown to be an excellent midfield player and we might use him in that position more often in the second half of the season. Widdo deserves a crack with the first team. |
